Mis à jour : mars 27
With each new season comes its share of new looks. And the spring-summer collections always herald the arrival of shimmering colors and light materials.
On Fashion Week catwalks, spring/summer 2020 fashion promises to be a very good vintage. There will be colors, feathers, transparency and plunging necklines. What will be your look for spring summer?
Spring summer 2020 fashion trends are stylish and portable
There are a few pieces this spring which were favorites of last year. There are also some great classics like the overalls or the jumpsuit which have become real fashion essentials. And then, we discover some new things to spice up our summer:
1. The mini shorts
Hot pants staged a triumphant comeback on the spring 2020 runways—from itty bitty knit shorts to denim cutoffs. Whether you style them with leggings or over a mesh dress; pair them knee-high boots or pumps, rest assured that hot pants will make your legs sizzle. Balance out the ultra-short shorts with long sleeves or a jacket on top
2. The plunging neckline
We dare to reveal a maximum of tanned skin and do not hesitate to wear the plunging neckline. The necklines, more dizzying than each other, will be in abundance this season.
3. The bra top
Crop tops are no longer cutting it—the bra top has officially entered the party. From crochet iterations to a more daring sheer number, bikini dressing comes in all textures and styles. Just add a high-waisted skirt and you've got the perfect summer look. With the bra-top trend being invariably revealing, it is best to pair it more with concealing items. Some choice items include long, pleated trousers, Chesterfield coats, and high-waisted anything.
4. The puff sleeves
The balloon sleeves make themselves invariably stand out. The summer wardrobe takes a hold of oversized volumes that can't go unnoticed. This bold silhouette is going so popular this spring. Just look at how puffy they are!
5. The oversize
The oversize cut really took possession of our entire wardrobe right up to the bags with the oversize bag (the seasonal it-bag)
6. The denim
The cult denim look reveals itself in total look on the catwalks. Washed out, raw or destroyed, we love the jeans worn from head to toe. The spring collections deliver a bumper crop of blue jeans, from Bermuda shorts to ’70s kick-flares.
7. The suits
Suiting will never go out of style, but after seasons of broad shoulders, boyish silhouettes, and boxy shapes, Spring’s best suits are long and lean. With a thigh-grazing, single-button blazer and skinny flares, these mix-and-match suits channel the look of the free-spirited women’s-lib ’70s.
8. The Bermuda shorts
If the thought of hot pants in summer makes you want to go running, Bermuda shorts are there to save you the day. To freshen up your wardrobe, the designers and it girls have adopted Bermuda shorts for spring. Bermuda shorts are here to save the day. Putting a twist on the classic suit. But wearing them in corporate setting can be tricky. Pro tips: keep the colors dark, and pair them with sleek button-downs.
9. The waistcoat (vest)
Cut tight to the body and worn with micro shorts, billowing shirts and occasionally with nothing underneath at all, a black tailored waistcoat was present on all catwalks. Vests can be dapper and streamlined, or fresh and funky. But no matter what style you choose on any given day, know that they will add greater dimensions to your look.
10. The (faux) leather
Once reserved strictly for fall and winter, leather is ready to have its moment during spring too. Get the look right for the season by opting for a colorful skirt or jacket iteration that can be styled countless ways. If a leather skirts sounds heavy, lighten it up with a no-fuss top or a simple T-shirt.
11. Crochet All Day
The knit style is definitely not going away in warmer months, but that’s because the see-through fabric is ideal to wear from the beach to the street.
Crochet is getting a cool update come spring. Think ultra-feminine dresses, polished suiting, and evening-wear that feels modern with a special touch of Grandma’s handmade crochet.
